TRAVELING TO YALE UNIVERSITY BY AIRPLANE
BDL - Bradley International Airport/Hartford is about one hour north of New Haven. To get to New Haven from the airport you need ground transportation. Taking a taxi from Bradley is extremely expensive, and is not recommended. We recommend the following:
Connecticut Limousine (CT Limo)
Despite its name, CT Limo is a shared, scheduled shuttle bus service from the airport to downtown New Haven. The shuttles run from the airport hourly 8:00am-12:45am, so schedule your arrival to coincide. Call 1-800-472-5466 or (203) 878-2222, see www.ctlimo.com, ask your travel agent, or just pick up their red courtesy phone upon arrival in the baggage claim area at the airport. You can ask to be dropped off at a downtown New Haven hotel, or at Phelps Gate on Old Campus, College Street.
JFK - John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York , LGA - La Guardia Airport, New York, EWR - Newark International Airport, New Jersey.
These airports are served by many national and international airlines. Upon arriving, you will need to get your baggage and, if necessary, pass through US Immigrations and Customs. Ground or Public transportation is necessary to get from these airports to New Haven. Taking a taxi to New Haven would be very expensive, and is not recommended. Travel time is generally about two hours to New Haven.
Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark: Airports managed by the Port Authority of NY and NJ. For information on ground and public transportation to these airports call 1-800-AIR-RIDE, or visit http://www.panynj.gov/aviation.html
CT Limo vans leave for CT every hour from 7:30am to 10:30pm, so plan accordingly. Ask for CT Limo at the Ground Transportation desks near the baggage claim area. You will be dropped off at the CT Limo station in New Haven, and will need to take a taxi to your final destination. See information on CT Limo above.
