The first experimental implementation of the OGY control
algorithm was done by Ditto, Rauseo, and Spano
using a magnetic ribbon, extended vertically and bent under its weight. |

A varying magnetic field drove the ribbon into chaotic oscillations. |
Unstable fixed points and cycles were
