Cellular Automata Exercise 4

Use this rule and reset the Options menu as indicated.

(a) Run the CA from a first generation consisting of a single live cell somewhere near the middle of the top line of the window. Note the pattern you obtain.

(b) Run the CA from a first generation consisting of a small scattering of live and dead cells, with the live cells confined to a region no more than 15 or 20 cells in extent, near the middle of the top line of the window. Compare the pattern you see here with the pattern of (a).

(c) Replace the live-live-live configuration with live-dead-live and repeat the experiment. Compare this to the pervious results.
