The Koch Tetrahedron

Exercise Answers

1. At each stage, a traingular face is replaced by 6 scaled copies of itself:
2. The scale factor is 1/2. The side of a scaled triangle is one-half that of the original triangle.
3. Consequently, the dimension of a face of the Koch tetrahedron is Log(6)/Log(2), approximately 2.58496.
The Koch Tetrahedron consists of the union of four identical faces, so by the union formula, the Koch Tetrahedron has dimension Log(6)/Log(2).
